Connect an Agent
Allowing agents on your account and adding CheckMate to your AI tool.
1. Allow agents on your account
- In CheckMate, open Settings.
- Find the AI Agents card and turn on Allow AI agents to use your account.
- Open Advanced and choose what agents may do, then save.
Until you do this, CheckMate refuses everything an agent asks for, even reading.
2. Add CheckMate to your AI tool
CheckMate is available at the address below. Add it as an MCP server in whichever assistant you use — most tools ask only for this URL.
https://mcp.get-checkmate.com/mcpIn Claude Code, that is one of the following, depending on whether you want CheckMate in a single project or everywhere:
This project only
claude mcp add --transport http checkmate https://mcp.get-checkmate.com/mcpAll your projects
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http checkmate https://mcp.get-checkmate.com/mcp3. Approve access
The first time your assistant connects, a browser window opens and asks you to sign in to CheckMate and approve access. This is the same login you use for the app — your assistant never sees your password, and can be cut off at any time without changing it.
If the connection fails
- Every request is refused. Agents are turned off on your account, or nothing is granted yet. See Permissions.
- It asks you to reconnect. You pressed Disconnect all agents at some point, which cuts off every connection your account had. Approve access again to carry on.
